Delta – In-Flight mPOS Concept

OVERVIEW

Delta was seeking proposals to improve its existing in-flight mobile point of sale (mPOS) system with the goal of increasing in-flight retail transactions and enhancing the overall passenger customer experience.

Designing for iOS devices, our team was charged with devising in-flight customer journeys that incorporated enhanced mobile technology and improved overlapping experiences between flight attendants and passengers.

PROCESS

Leading UX design, and working across a large team of designers and strategists, my creative process included:

  • Competitive analysis of existing mobile point of sale technology, operating systems, and UI patterns.
  • Gathering user insights and vetting scenarios through interviews with Delta Flight Attendants.
  • Scenario and user journey design informed by interviews with real end users.
  • Designing userflows and wireframes to inform visual design. Storyboard design and implementation of prototypes for demonstration screencasts.
