To improve enterprise-ready capabilities, Tableau needed to improve it's disparate configuration and maintenance services for Tableau Server administrator customers. The goal was to consolidate web UI, command line, and windows utilities tools into single, easy to use web console UI. Tableau Server admin customer wanted better tools for predicting and detecting problems with distributions of Tableau Server so they could spend less time troubleshooting and more time optimizing.
Through my work I learned a lot about what systems IT Admins prefer (text isn’t alway a bad thing) and helped shape a more humanized product approach to our enterprise and IT tools. I created a product experience foundation, and eventually transitioned this work to other designers within the team I currently manage.
